How to Make Pour-Over Coffee at Home
Priya Nair · 6 min read · Updated Oct 28
Pour-over is the simplest way to taste what a good bean can really do. You pour hot water over ground coffee by hand, and it drains through a paper filter into your cup.
It takes about four minutes and a little attention. This guideArjun covers the ratio, the grind and the pour, with the one tool worth buying.
Grind size
Grind the beans just before you brew, to about the size of table salt. If the water drains in under two and a half minutes, grind finer next time.
Tighten the intro and add a ratio table for 1 to 4 cups.

Here is a tighter intro, about a third shorter:
Pour-over takes four minutes, a paper filter and a little attention, and shows what a good bean can really do.
And the ratio, at 1:16:
| Cups | Coffee | Water |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 15 g | 250 g |
| 2 | 30 g | 500 g |
| 4 | 60 g | 1,000 g |

what changes
Less chasing, more publishing
Three things that slow a content team down, and what changes when the work lives in one place.
01 · the problem
Briefs writers can't follow
A list of keywords and three competitor links leaves the writer to guess what the post needs.
what changes
A brief built from what ranks
Super Research reads the pages that rank, works out who searches and what they ask first, and turns it into a plan with every section, its length and what it must cover.
Super Research02 · the problem
Work spread over ten tabs
The draft is in one doc, the comments in a chat, the to-dos in a sheet and the pictures in a folder.
what changes
Everything beside the draft
Write together in Paper with the brief, comments on the exact words, a to-do list and the pictures in one window. A stage on every paper shows what is in progress, waiting for review or done.
Paper03 · the problem
Every writer sounds different
Posts from five writers read like five different sites, and the brand's voice gets lost in the edits.
what changes
One voice for the brand
Voice Studio learns an author's voice from their own posts and rewrites a draft in it, keeping every link, picture, table and heading where it was.

a day in the life
How a post moves through your team
From the keyword to the live post, without copying anything between tools.
- 01Plan
Research the keyword
The editor searches from the readers' country, on a desktop and a phone, and sends the brief to Paper.
- 02Write
Draft with the brief beside you
The writer drafts with the brief open, asks the AI for help, and adds a calculator or a checklist readers can use.
- 03Review
Comment, check and polish
The editor comments on the words, runs the on-page SEO checks, rewrites in the brand's voice and makes the featured image.
- 04Publish
Copy it to WordPress
Paste the HTML into WordPress. Site Monitor watches the post from then on, and Site Metric shows how it does in search.

faq
Questions, answered
What content teams ask us most, in plain words.
Something else? Book a demo or write to us.
01Can several people edit one paper at once?
Yes. Everyone in a paper sees the others' carets and changes as they type, and nobody overwrites anyone else's words. Every change is kept, so you can see who did what and go back to an earlier point.
02Does the brief come with the draft?
Yes. Send the research to Paper and the brief opens beside the draft. Insert it into the paper when you want to write from it, or ask the AI chat to write a first draft from it.
03Can we keep AI spending in check?
Yes. Admins set a monthly budget for each person and each feature. When a budget is used up the person is told in plain words, and the work made so far is kept.
04How do new writers join?
An admin or a manager sends an invite link. The writer makes their own account and can land straight in their team.
